Hey Guys!!

I was recently at Ikkicon 09 aka Ikkicon 3!! Memories came flooding back from last year as I entered the hotel, wondering if things would be quite the same as they were last year. Some old friends greeted me as we arrived bright and early at 6 am.. we had to get a ride cause parking downtown was painfully expensive. So badges were picked up and we spent the morning sitting around in cosplay, talking of previous cons and animes we watch, eating breakfast and drinking coffee.

Friday seemed to fly by with photo ops by con goers and press photographers alike. I ran into friends from previous cons and cosplayers from the same series, which by now if you haven’t recognized the name, I cosplay as Lt. Momo Hinamori from Bleach. I spent Friday in my academy outfit. Opening Ceremonies started up and I was once again excited to see my friend, VA Kyle Hebert again after so long. I spent awhile hanging out with Ranru from eyeshine forums and as the evening came to a close I left the hotel to go bowling with Kyle and a few of our friends. I didn’t do so well, but we had a lot of fun.

Saturday began and I spent the morning doing photo ops and hanging out in the dealer’s room. Hung out in the coffee shop with Kyle and Ikkaku for awhile and then onto the bleach photoshoot for about 10 minutes.

Friday afternoon, I rode the elevator with Jason Frank! I’ve wanted to meet the guy since I was 10, and as I was waiting for the elevator, he just walked around the corner and got on the elevator with me! geez! but I waited until Saturday morning to get photos with him.

Saturday afternoon, was q&a panel and anime auditions panel, where basically steve and kyle taught how to properly audition for anime voice work. I was chosen to do the audition for Sakura from Naruto!

can ya tell my first line was supposed to sound angry?! LOL!

they're looking for some kind of constructive criticism..but they're impressed!

Saturday night, I went with Ranru to Steve’s dinner at Paradise in austin on 6th street..good times were had and a wonderful dinner and conversation.

Saturday evening wound things down and we all took a few more photos and going to a few final panels and then Neko and I spent a good percentage of the evening just hanging out online and uploading photos and telling funny stories, a few of which I’d rather not tell, sorry guys, they’re personal.

Sunday closed things up and the dealer’s room made cheap deals with us so they could rid of merchandise, I bought Saiyuki on DVD for $40!! yay!! can’t usually get that set for less than $60-80 so I was happy. Said goodbye to some friends and hung out awhile longer until it was time to head back to my dorm and get some rest!!

All in all Ikkicon wasn’t bad, it wasn’t last year’s gathering of so many cosplayers, but the hotel was huge compared to last year so there was more room to walk around.
