Naruto’s first half consists of 220 episodes. Of these, 91 episodes are filler episodes (more that 40%). The majority of non-canon episodes are found in the final stretch. There are over 70 episodes in a row. It is easy to avoid them.

Naruto’s Shippuden, which is set two-and-a-half years after Naruto has twice as many episodes, 500 and twice the number of filler episodes with 188 episodes (38%). These episodes are more difficult to avoid because they contain filler and canon scenes. The mixed episodes should be avoided. Canon scenes are not worth watching as they only last a few seconds and are recalled via flashback at episode’s beginning that is purely canon. However, there is one caveat. Even with all the ups and downs, the last 20 episodes are still worth watching. They serve as an emotional farewell and help you to connect with Boruto. These are the episodes you should avoid:
