Team 7 in Boruto.

The following contains spoilers for Chapter 71 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, “Hindrance,” by Masashi Kishimoto, Mikio Ikemoto, Mari Morimoto and Snir Aharon, now available in English from Viz Media.

Code is as terrifying a threat in the future as Code was in the past BorutoEida was another huge danger Isshiki had left behind. The all-seeing, all-knowing cyborg successfully restrained Konoha’s heroes during a recent invasion and enabled Code to kidnap Amado. Amado activated Code’s full power at Boro’s snowy lair, reminding everyone why Isshiki wanted Eida to be decommissioned.

She was simply too strong with her knowledge and her ability break minds and make people lust for her. However, BorutoChapter 71 revealed how adept Amado can be at taking things on the wing with her. He also concocted a sinister plan which got the Hidden Leaf some new defectors.

Chapter 71 was about Amado reminding Eida not to wage war upon Konoha — instead, she could accept Shikamaru’s invitation, go there to seek asylum, and naturally get Kawaki to like her. It led to civil war. Daemon beat a jealous Code and sent him running. With the Code deal done, Eida is left with nothing but to take her sibling Konoha to Konoha to see if they can be truly together.

This bodes well to Konoha as Naruto, Sasuke, and Kawaki de-powered, Eida could defend his village against Momoshiki taking over Boruto’s corpse or when Code returns. He’ll be stronger if Isshiki’s full power is harnessed, so Eida could be a blessing to quell his rage. However, seeing his beloved could make him more angry and throw him off balance. Eida, however, is the type of defense measure most villages would give their lives for.

Eida is aware that Amado and Hidden Leaf are not to be trusted. They may be trying to get her to trust them, and she won’t turn against them. Kawaki is a nimble liability, and she might lose control and raze the building, making it less secure for Code. At the moment, it’s all a game of chance. BorutoAmado reacts to a plan to save his skin. But, Amado admitted that he is still manipulating Kawaki’s body and that he could use this to his advantage to get Eida to fall in love with him.

It’s unclear whether the Daemon will get along with the teenage shinobi in the village because he is so hotheaded. The village is still apprehensive about Kawaki’s WMD status and is only now allowing him to mosey around as a citizen. Two more flammable characters might not work in optics and politics. There are many dynamic factors at play and personalities that will clash. All these factors make it difficult to predict how Konoha will respond to Eida or Daemon, and vice versa. This creates a volatile situation. Boruto continues.
