After a seven-decade-long career, Bernard Cribbins, who is most well-known for his role as Donna’s grandfather Wilfred in Doctor Who, passes away at the age of 93.

Cribbins made his last appearance in Doctor WhoCribbins was announced to be returning to the franchise after the 2009/2010 New Year and Christmas specials. Cribbins would be joining Catherine Tate (David Tennant) in a 2023 episode. Doctor WhoThis episode was filmed to commemorate the series’ 60th year anniversary. Official Doctor Who Twitter page posted several tweets honoring Cribbins’ work in the series, including Cribbins’ iconic quote from the show, “Every night Doctor, when it starts to get dark and the stars start to shine… I’ll be looking up at the sky and thinking of you.”
