Your Lie In April : Summary
The human metronome, Kousei Arima, is accompanied by music. Kousei’s mother Saki Arima dies, and he falls into a downwards spiral that renders him unable hear the sound of his piano.
Kousei continues to avoid the piano despite his many admirers and rivals. Instead, he lives a boring life with Tsubaki Sawabe, Ryouta Wtari, and leads a monotonous existence. But everything changes when Kousei meets Kaori Miyazono, a beautiful violinist who ignites his imagination and takes him on a journey of face to face music.
Based on the manga series of the same name, Your Lie In April approaches the story of Kousei’s recovery as he discovers that music is more than playing each note perfectly, and a single melody can bring in the fresh spring air of April.

10. Clannad: After Story
After Story: Clannad is the sequel of the critically-acclaimed slice-of life series Clannad. The story begins after Tomoya Ozazaki (high school) and Nagisa Furukawa (high school). Kaoru Nishiimi, an introverted classical pianist who is also a top student at Kyushu’s high school, just arrived in Kyushu. He has been moving from one place to another since childhood. 8. Kimi no Suizou Wo Tabetai
April is spring and the last cherry blossoms are in bloom. In a hospital waiting area, a book was discovered by the usually reserved bookworm. Handwritten on the cover are the words: “Living with Dying.” He soon discovers that it is a diary kept by his very popular and genuinely cheerful classmate, Sakura Yamauchi, who reveals to him that she is secretly suffering from a pancreatic illness and only has a limited time left. She gains one more person to tell her secrets at this moment.
Sakura is determined not to settle for a life of normality, but she will do her best to live it to the fullest. His heart starts to change as his free spirit and unpredictability throw him for a loop.
7. 3-gatsu no Lion
Rei Kiriyama, a 17-year old boy, recently moved in his own apartment. This was made possible by his Shogi playing salary. Despite his independence, however, he’s yet to mature emotionally, and his problems continue to haunt him in his daily life. His relationship with his adoptive parents is complicated and he has difficulty interacting with fellow high school students. His professional career is in decline. His prodigious expectations of him being the fifth middle school graduate to be a professional are causing his wins and losses to fluctuate.
Rei is also known by the three Kawamoto siblings: Hinata, Momo, and Akari. Rei is not a part of their happy home. They welcome Rei in as if he were a family member. He visits the family often, even though he is hesitant about getting too close to them.
This is the story of Rei’s triumphs and failures, relationships new and old, and his growth as a person.

Tsukasa Mizugaki, 18, has failed his college entrance exam. However, after pulling some strings, he is able to get a job at Sion Artificial Intelligence Corporation. SAI Corp is responsible for the creation of “Giftias”—highly advanced androids which are almost indiscernible from normal humans. Giftias live for a maximum of 81,920hrs, or approximately nine years, four months, and are therefore not like humans. Terminal Service One, the station Tsukasa was a**igned to, is responsible for collecting Giftias that have met their expiration date, before they lose their memories and become hostile.
Tsukasa, a terminal service one veteran, is immediately paired with Isla, a beautiful Giftia. Despite her small stature, and placid nature, she is a Terminal Service veteran. Tsukasa has to accept his feelings towards Isla. Nothing lasts forever, no matter how much one wants it.
5. Angel Beats!
Otonashi awakens to discover that he has died. Otonashi learns that Yuri is a rifle-wielding girl and that they are in an afterlife. Yuri informs Otonashi that she is a Shinda Sekai Sensen leader and wage war against Tenshi. Unable to believe Yuri’s claims that Tenshi is evil, Otonashi attempts to speak with her, but the encounter doesn’t go as he intended.
Otonashi joins the SSS to fight Tenshi. But he is strangely attracted to her. As he tries to regain his memories, and understand Tenshi’s past, he slowly uncovers the mysteries surrounding the afterlife.

Jinta Yadomi has a peaceful life as a recluse. Instead of going to school, he spends his time at home playing video games. One hot summer day, his childhood friend, Meiko “Menma” Honma, appears and pesters him to grant a forgotten wish. He pays her no mind, which annoys her, but he doesn’t really care. Menma had died many years before.
Jinta initially thinks he is simply hallucinating because of the summer heat. However, he later realizes that what Jinta sees is actually Menma’s ghost. Jinta and his group of childhood friends grew apart after her untimely death, but they are drawn together once more as they try to lay Menma’s spirit to rest. Re-living their pain and guilt, will they be able to find the strength to help not only Menma move on—but themselves as well?

Shinichi meets Megumi Noda, or as she calls herself Nodame, during his fourth year at Japan’s top music university. She appears unmotivated and untidy.
