My Hero Academia’s final chapter took an unexpected twist when Edgeshot decided that Katsuki Bakugo would be his hero and that he would save him. With Tomura Shigaraki trying inflict maximum damage before Izuku Midoriya arrives, it could prove difficult. Given how unstoppable Shigaraki is since his All For One transformation, it’s no surprise that he has become a Demon Lord. Let’s now see if the heroes can stand against Shigaraki Chapter 366 of My Hero Academia.
My Hero Academia Chapter 366 Review

Izuku is finally back to face shigaraki and it’s been a long time coming because I think the last time we saw izuku was in June at the end of chapter 357 when we saw that he was still flying to AU using a combination of his multiple quirks because at the beginning of the arc he was caught by toga when the individual teams were transferred to their civic location and he was stuck with that group for a while.
After a while, he worked with the group but was able break away with the help Baraka & Tsuyu. He began to return to AU after he was originally meant to be part the Shigaraki team. But while he was getting there, he was complaining about not being fast enough and that brings us to the end of chapter 357 where we saw Yoichi’s Vestige.

Midoriya was the first to use One for All Appearance. I feel bad about this. A bad feeling and we saw these things approaching izuku and at the time we didn’t know what they were.
We now know the truth because, as izuku approaches the AU, he sees the Star and Stripes crew jets. That means they found izuku and escorted them to the AU, bringing him there faster than he could have.
He got there much faster than he would have with his own abilities, hey also guys if you like my hero content please subscribe if you haven’t already, it’s okay if you don’t want to, but if you just need a reminder here it is and now that izuku is finally here he’s going to face shigaraki in his presumed final form or Apex form.
I don’t think this is the apex of him maybe it is for shigaraki individually, but it remains to be seen for all for one or the all-for-one consciousness of shigaraki once it has been fully assimilated, which I assume will happen after the end of the All For One vs. the Tempted Falcon story, but the reason why shigaraki takes this form is explained in this chapter, and of course, it’s due to the changes Yujiko made to shigaraki’s body to make him strong enough to use the full power of All For One. It was as if Quirk had become too strong to use this particular form. He needs this particular body because he has quirks that were erased with izawa, alyama.

he couldn’t use regeneration for a very long time and he accumulated a lot of damage in that battle and on top of that he had a lot of mental stress and that drove Shigaraki to the brink and at that point his body evolved into his supreme form perfectly designed to deal with the threats he faced and I…
I have to say it looks really cool, it’s like the super final version of what we saw of Shigaraki when we were introduced to him, you know when he was carrying the hands of his deceased family members and speaking of them, these are now the fingers of this giant arm that he has.
And now that he’s acquired this form, he doesn’t play anything and he kills Mirko Tamaki and Nejri in order and he doesn’t even look at Virio while it’s happening, he says “I know how helpless you are” and that’s pretty much true because even though Mirio has an awesome gift with permeation, he doesn’t really have anything to draw on.
Obviously the strongest of the strong, unless you have one-for-all strength or something that rivals that, there’s not much you can do against him, so we see Shigaraki trying to go after the top genius and Bakugo, and he’s like “you know, don’t fix what somebody broke”, referring to when he killed Bakugou by piercing his heart, and speaking of which, we don’t hear from Bakugou.
He’s still lying there and we saw in the previous chapters that the best genie had sewn his heart back together and we saw Deadshot using his ultimate ability to repair Bakugo’s heart and lungs. But also to transform them at the same time and I guess he will come back to life, but we don’t see it happening yet.
I’m sure I’ll see him fighting side by side with izuku at some point, but even the best genius can’t, but then again, even the best genius isn’t able to contain Shigaraki because he’s too beastly now until Mandalay starts contacting everyone and she says we have to raise the electromagnetic barrier just for a moment, it’ll take two seconds, so please hold on and that’s of course because she opens it for izuku’s arrival.

Although at this point in the chapter, we don’t know yet, because Jesus says that two seconds is way too long because you know, this is a fighting manga. And they’re much slower than seconds in our reality, but Muriel is having an existential crisis at this point after Shigaraki tells her that he realized how helpless he was, and he starts remembering the night I told him before he died that a society without joy and humor would not have a bright future and Muriel takes that literally and comes in front of Shigaraki and says “hey, look at this.
Peach and he picks her ass yeah, that’s what’s going on, that’s what Muriel has been reduced to and when I first saw that page I thought that reminds me of Naruto’s humor and then I remembered oh wait, that’s totally a Naruto sequence too because at the end of that series when they face Kaguya, Naruto does the reverse Harem Jutsu on her and he distracts her the same way Shigaraki is distracted by Muriel’s ass here and uh Naruto, it was enough for him to get a clean hit on Kaguya and here, it’s enough for izuku to come back in and strike the earth as well.
But first, he uses as black whips to as slingshot himself that we saw him use before, but this panel is just amazing and he manages to hit Shigaraki here at the end of the chapter and that’s where things really start to get interesting.

Because we haven’t really seen anyone strong enough to take on Shigaraki in his new form and that’s kind of what the series has come to, the power drift has gotten so crazy that izuku is the only one who can take on Sugar Hockey.
It used to be easier with Isawa deactivating quirks and such, but as we’ve seen, that’s not enough, because his body is too powerful even without the help of quirks. His quirks, even the second quirk we haven’t seen him use yet, but he claims he can use it in addition to being able to use 100 and even if he doesn’t need to go to 100, he can still use the enemy 100 that he may have used when he entered here with the slingshot and the fajin quirk, although it’s not specified, but I don’t know if this is necessarily the beginning of the final fight of the series.
Conclusion

But it definitely takes us in that direction for sure, because like I said, not all the students have been fully assimilated by Shigaraki yet, and I think that’s going to be a big turning point, like I also mentioned in my spoiler post yesterday, there are still a lot of things that we haven’t covered yet, like the other students and their individual fights, and I think Korokoshi might break away from that, maybe in the next few chapters, and then we’ll just focus on that kind of stuff for a little while and then we’ll come back to what’s going on with izuku fighting shigaraki but that’s about it for today’s post guys.
Tell me what you think of this chapter in the comments, what you think of Muriel, what you think of Hisoka’s return, let me know.
