Hikaru Nakamura’s Black Night Parade Manga Gets a Live-action Film In December

Today, it is confirmed that the live-action movie adaptation of Hikaru Nagamura‘s (Arakawa Below the Bridge, Saint Young Men) Black Night ParadeManga is due to be released in Japan December 23, 2022. Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump published the manga from 2016 to 2019. The manga has been serialized again in Ultra Jump by the publisher since September 2019. Japan has so far had seven tankobon volumes.
The story centers on Miharu Hino the protagonist, who is hopeless at all he does. He has failed entrance exams, failed job searching, and no girlfriend. After working at a convenience shop for three years, a man dressed in a Santa suit takes him away. He says, “You have a job!” Eventually, Miharu starts working at “Santa Claus House,” a mysterious company located at the North Pole that distributes gifts to children all over the world.
Yuichi FukudaHe has worked on numerous commercially successful live action film adaptations of Japanese manga (Hentai kamen, Gintama, Kyo Kara Ore Wa!He is also attached to direct a screenplay by himself. Tetsuo Kamata (Persona Non Grata). Fukuda previously worked on the live-action TV drama adaptation of Nakamura’s Saint Young MenManga for three seasons in 2018, 2019 and 2020. He stated, “This work is the second by Hikaru Nagamura-sensei.” Saint Young MenIt is, as always, very funny, and the surrealism of its laughter is quite interesting.”
