James Gunn Assures DC Fans Peacemaker Season 2 Is "Safe" Amid Warner Bros. Cuts


Warner Bros. has made recent moves. DC fans are worried about the future prospects of Warner Bros.’ comic-based TV and film projects. Since April’s merger, CEO David Zaslav has been trying to reduce the entertainment division by $3 billion. The latest casualty is the BatgirlWBD has apparently put on hold the movie, despite it being nearly finished with post-production. Fans are concerned about the fates other projects. A production that cost close to $90million is now apparently being shelved by WBD. 

Peacemaker, The Suicide SquadThe acclaimed spinoff series was a huge hit on HBO Max’s first season. It was then renewed by the streaming service for Season 2. It doesn’t look like it. PeacemakerWBD’s cuts are going to make Season 2 unaffordable. The frustrating BatgirlNews, Gunn was asked by a fan PeacemakerSeason 2 would be “safety” from all the current problems. With his quick response, he quickly put all of those worries to bed.

Gunn was a household name because of his work on The Guardians of the GalaxyMarvel Studios movies Gunn teamed up last year with Warner Bros. The Suicide SquadThe book, which was praised by many and led to the creation PeacemakerJohn Cena stars as the title character in ‘The Greatest Showmanship’. Gunn believes he will spend more time on television after this experience. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

“I think I’ve decided that after I’m done with it.” GuardiansI will be working in television at least for a year. Gunn confirmed that Gunn was right. Variety. “Not all of the shows that we’re working on are things I’m going to write and direct, so some may require different amounts. Peacemaker will consist of me writing, me directing and all my time spent on set. There may be other shows, however, that I am not writing or directing all of the episodes.
