Jujutsu Kaisen It only started in the pages Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018, but has rapidly risen up the ranks in anime popularity. Both the first anime adaptation and prequel movie were released. Jujutsu Kaisen 0Gege Akutami’s manga franchise has achieved yet another milestone. According to the Shonen Jump series, the second season of the anime adaptation will arrive in 2023.
There are over seventy-million copies of the Shonen supernatural Shonen manga currently in circulation. This proves that there is an increasing demand to dive into Yuji Itadori’s story with his Jujutsu Tech classmates. Gege Akutami, the manga’s creator, has indicated that the manga’s end is near, but there are still many storylines, battles and characters that the anime adaptation can explore.
This year’s Anime Expo saw us able to talk with Studio MAPPA’s creators regarding season two of Jujutsu Kaisen. Hiroshi Seko, the screenwriter, and Manabu Otsuka, CEO at MAPPA, had this to say about the return to anime.
Seko: “There isn’t much we can say right now. We’re creating something that is based on the original manga by Akutami–sensei. Readers will know what’s coming up.
Otsuka: “Please enjoy it. Although I cannot really speak for the staff, I can tell you that they are dedicating their hearts and souls to creating something the fans will love. They know what fans expect. They are determined to fulfill the expectations of the fans who love the series.
This is a significant milestone for Jujutsu Kaisen in terms of overall manga circulation. However, there are still many steps to be taken before the company can reach the same heights. One Piece, Dragon Ball and Demon SlayerEach of these have copies in excess of 100 million of their printed stories around the globe.
