Logan Lerman Weighs In On Disney's New Percy Jackson TV Show

Logan Lerman (star of Percy Jackson films) shares his thoughts on Disney’s upcoming series adaptations Rick Riordan’s famous novels.

Logan Lerman gives his opinion on Disney’s new adaptation of Percy Jackson, the OlympiansPercy was her role in the 2010 film. Lerman played the role of the lead character, based upon Rick Riordan’s popular book series. Percy Jackson, the Lightning ThiefBefore returning to the role in 2013, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. The films also starred Brandon T. Jackson as Grover Underwood and Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase. Riordan’s stories tell of the titular young demigod and his charming adventures, all inspired by Greek mythology.


People were thrilled to hear about a possible reboot, particularly when Riordan was confirmed to be heavily involved. This is a departure from the original adaptation. Percy Jackson, the OlympiansDisney+ will air the series as a TV Series. It will be hosted by The Adam Project star Walker Scobell. Leah Sava Jeffries will play Annabeth, while Aryan Simhadri will play Grover, with many excited to see where Disney will take this exciting new adaptation. Riordan recently calculated that there are currently ten episodes of the series in production. Percy Jackson, the Olympians could release in 2024, though an official window has yet to be confirmed.

I’m excited too, I’m really excited. I’m curious to see it, I think that everything I’ve seen so far, like peripherally, just about like casting and how they’re doing it and that Rick is running it, just makes me happy, it makes me happy for the fans, and I’m excited for this new generation to watch it.

Lerman’s films of 2010 and 2013 failed to attract audiences. Many were unhappy with the way Riordan’s stories were adapted. The films received somewhat of a bad reputation after it was revealed that Riordan was granted very little involvement, and news that the author’s influence has been key to the new show’s creation has certainly been a driving force behind audiences’ major anticipation for the series. These complaints aside, the series was a success. Percy Jackson films, however, many have praised Lerman’s performance as Percy, with some even campaigning for the actor to return in Percy Jackson, the Olympians as Poseidon.

Lerman has notably been incredibly gracious when it comes to the Percy Jackson reboot, having taken to Twitter to congratulate Riordan after news of the series officially broke, sharing his hopes for a worthy adaptation this time around. It’s certainly heartwarming to hear Lerman’s thoughts on the project, as he appears to share in the excitement that Riordan will be taking the creative reigns with the series.
