Manga about man’s reincarnation in fantasy world, as a vending machine


KadokawaIt was announced that Hirukuma‘s Reborn as a Vending Machine. I Now Wander the Dungeon (Jidōhanbaiki ni Umarekawatta Ore wa Meikyū ni SamayōAn anime is being inspired by a light novel series. The format of the anime was not revealed in the announcement.

The teaser video below introduces a fantasy world that was “saved many times by the reincarnated people” and then remarks with surprise that the fate the fantasy realm now rests with a vending device.


Yen PressPublished all three volumes in English of the light novels, and it tells the story.

A traffic accident brings an end to the life of a middle-aged man who has only one passion. This is where most stories end. But this is where his story starts. He’s reborn as the vending machine he loved most. His new lease of life (?) His new lease of life (?) is in the worst place. What can a vending machine do when he’s unable to speak or move independently in a monster-infested underground dungeon?

Hirukuma began serializing the story in the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in March 2016, and ended it in December of that year, with epilogue stories serialized in January to February 2017. KadokawaThe novels were published in print editions by Sneaker Bunko with illustrations. Itsuwa KatōThe first volume was shipped in July 2016, followed by the second and final volumes. The final volume, the third, was shipped in February 2017.
