Crunchyroll is set to premiere their latest original anime this week, but what date and time will ‘FreakAngels’Worldwide release

Winter broadcasting is in full-flow with My Dress-Up Darling, Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan dominating global anime conversation.

However, the premiere of one of the most anticipated anime series on the Winter schedule has yet to be made. FreakAngels.

It is getting serious hype, as the official trailer for the series has received more than 200,000 views on YouTube.

FreakAngels plot explored…

FreakAngelsThe anime series adapts Warren Ellis’ 2008 webcomic. It is post-apocalyptic and features action anime. The upcoming TV adaptation of Fena is Pirate Princess, Blade Runner : Black Lotus, and Shenmue are all Crunchyroll original productions.

After a mysterious purple dome and a world-ending flood, the series takes place in London, United Kingdom.

In the ruins of the capital, a group of psychically-powered heroes known as ‘FreakAngels’ reside in Whitechapel. The 11 FreakAngels (all 23-year-olds) have created a community of around 300 people. They also have watchtowers and their own food source.

But, their peace is under threat not only from the weather but also from refugees from around the world and other countries. FreakAngelsThere are many things lurking in darkness.

FreakAngelsSeason 1 episode count revealed

FreakAngelsCrunchyroll has confirmed that season 1 will include nine episodes.

The anime series’ premiere will feature a very unique format. All nine episodes will be available on launch day.

This will be one of the first Crunchyroll anime series to utilise the ‘Netflix-style’ release format and will therefore, not be airing episodes weekly as a simulcast title.

It’s possible to look forward to watching the entire first season of anime this week. But, when will it be released worldwide?

FreakAngels: Release date and Time – Explained

FreakAngelsIt will be available worldwide via Crunchyroll’s streaming platform on January 27th or 28th depending on your international location.

Crunchyroll has confirmed that nine episodes from the new anime series will be shown at 9 AM Pacific Time on January 27, and at the following international times to premium users:

  • Pacific Time: Jan 27, 9 AM PST
  • Eastern Time: 12 pm EST Jan 27
  • British Time: 5 PM GMT Jan 27
  • European Time: 6 pm CET on January 27
  • India Time: 10:30 PM IST Jan 27
  • Philippine Time: January 28th at 1AM PHT
  • Japan Time: Jan 28th, 2 AM JST
  • Australia Time: 3:30 AM AEDT on January 28

Crunchyroll currently offers a 14-day free trial for their premium service, which is priced at £7.99 a month.
