When is One Piece Live-Action Coming to Netflix?

Here are some things that anime fans will love! Netflix The live adaptation of the popular anime show is being produced. One Piece. You’re likely to recognize the famous anime if you are familiar with Straw Hat Pirates. This anime is not only a favorite, but it has over 1000 episodes.

What date will the anime’s live adaptation air on Netflix, then? This is what we know so far about the anime.

One PieceRelease Date for Live-Action

The first live adaptation was announced in January 2020. It is currently being produced by Tomorrow StudiosThe same company behind Cowboy BebopSince then, adaptation has been canceled.

The show’s creator was not present at the announcement. Eiichiro OdaThis graphic says: “It is true that I did announce the production of this in 2017, but these things take a while! The preparations have been progressing slowly behind the scenes and I am finally able to make the big announcement: NETFLIX will lend us their incredible production support! This is great news! I wonder how far the story will progress in the 10 episodes of season 1. Who will be cast? We appreciate your patience and we will keep you posted!

It has been quite some time since the first announcement of the show. The pandemic meant that production would have to begin in 2020, but it was too late. Since then there have been numerous delays and many postponed filming starts.

One Piece Steven Maeda, showrunner, said that the original goal was to have production started in 2021. “We have basically all 10 scripts written. When we return, we will begin casting. My suspicion is June 1. However, we will be starting our casting. We have a lot of names that we’re talking about, and we should be in production in September [2021]. We have been working closely with Sensei Oda. So, we’re going to get started, and this one is very big. I mean, Snowpiercer was a big production; this is even bigger.”

Netflix officially revealed the title for the first episode on September 20, 2021 by taking a screenshot of the script. One PieceEpisode 1 is entitled Romance DawnThis script was written by Steven Maeda, Matt Owens, and Steven Maeda. The crew was also preparing for filming at this time. Maeda posted on Instagram a month later that he had arrived at Cape Town to film the show.

Production began in February 2022. Marc Jobst, the director of the production, announced in May 2022 that filming had completed for the first two episodes. Director Marc Jobst tweeted: “Farewell South Africa. Land of sunshine and hard work, little animals that visit every day, mountains that take my breath away every day. We are grateful to the talented crew who bring this show to life.

This year’s Geeked WeekLivestream Event, Netflix finally gave One PieceCape Town Film Studios offers fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes view of the production of the live action adaptation.

Filming was due to end on July 10, according to the show’s producers. As far as we know, however, One Piece Netflix has not yet announced the release date. It is possible that the show will be released in 2022 or 2023.

One Piece Live-Action Story

One Piece first made its debut in an issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump on July 22, 1997. The manga has published 969 chapters in 95 volumes since then. This number continues to rise to this day. Over $21 billion has been earned by the franchise for its manga series, films and video games.

The following dates are the One PieceA total of 63 TV shows are available 1,027 Episodes (and counting). Netflix’s live-action series is not yet able to adapt which episodes. The show is essentially an alternate version of the planet we’re on in the “Golden Age of Pirates.”

Pirates rule the seas in search for the mythical treasure (aka “One Piece”) left behind by Gol Roger, the greatest pirate of all. Monkey D. Luffy declared himself Pirate King years after his passing and started his own crew in search of One Piece.

Luffy is a strong and agile man. This is due to a devil fruit he ate as a child. We see Luffy searching for One Piece to become the next Pirate King throughout the series.

One Piece Live-Action Cast

Before announcing the official announcement, One Piece Casting grid for live-action casting. It revealed the characters and their age ranges. To fit the roles, they looked for the following:

  • Luffy – Age 17, Hispanic/Latino
  • Zoro – Age 18, Asian
  • Nami – Age 19, Any ethnicity
  • Usopp – Age 17, Black
  • Sanji – Age 19, Any ethnicity
  • Garp – Age 55-79, Any ethnicity
  • Koby – Age 16 Any ethnicity

In November 2021, the first castings for the live adaptation were released.

  • Mackenyu (as Roronoa Zoro)
  • Jacob Gibson (as Usopp)
  • Emily Rudd (as Nami)
  • Taz Skylar (as Sanji)

Godoy revealed these things in an interview with Vanity Teen “To portray a character like Luffy is one of the greatest honors of my career and I know that this experience will stay with me forever regardless of the outcome.”

Six new members were added to the cast a few months later.
