What’s the Deal with the Ending?

The end of Paradise Lost has been described as one of the most tragic and beautiful scenes in English literature. Just think about it. Only one chance exists for humanity to live in a perfect universe.
In the forest, there is no pain, death, disease, or angering lions. Even the gates to Paradise have a “flaming mark” to prevent Adam and Eve, who were the very first human beings to ever exist according to Judeo-Christian religious traditions, from trying to enter again.
In the second book, Michael the angel gives Adam a lesson in history. Michael lifts Adam from the mountaintop where they stood at the end of the lesson. Adam wakes Eve. They both walk out of Paradise, weeping several times and holding hands. They are facing a very dangerous and large world, but God (in “Providence”) will guide them.

From a Christian perspective, Adam and Eve’s entry into the “all before them world” is the beginning of human history. It marks the birth of the world, which is death, sickness work, war, etc. We all know this. The “end” of Paradise, in a sense, is the beginning and end of human history as we know. It’s the time between Eden (the beginning), and the apocalypse (“the end of the world).
Second, Paradise’s departure marks the beginning of more traditional forms of literature such as epic and spiritual poetry. Paradise Lost both). Many critics point out the many changes in English literature after. Paradise Lost.
In just 40 years comedy and satire dominated, while the novel took root in only 50 years. It took time for writers to realize that this didn’t happen overnight. Or that their daily lives were far more interesting than angels and demons.

Literature changed a lot regardless of the reason Paradise Lost. It almost seems that Adam and Eve left a supernatural location such as The Garden of Eden. Angels can even fly from heaven to visit the Garden of Eden! This is a sign of a decline in literature on religious subjects. This was not the intention of Milton, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it isn’t true.
