When is The Continental due for release? The Continental is a prequel to the John WICK movies. It was first announced in June 2017. It’s been a long journey and we still wait for it to arrive on our screens five years later. As we get closer to the series debut, however, there have been many more developments in recent months.
Co-showrunners for The Continental will be Kirk Ward (Greg Coolidge), Derek Kolstad (Kirk Ward) Chris Collins, Derek Kolstad and Ken Kristensen have worked together previously on John Wick projects. They will share writing credits for The Continental. Chad Stahelski (executive producer) and Shawn Simmons (director producer), will join David Leitch, Paul Wernick, and Rhett Seese as David Leitch.
Collider reports that Albert Hughes will direct the first and final episodes, while the middle episode’s director is still to be announced. The series news is coming fast but the most important information is The Continental Release Date, plot and cast. The Digital Fix will provide this information as best we can!
Speculations about the continental release date
The Continental will become available in 2023. We don’t know the exact date, but we do not know when it will be released.
In a August 2022 press release, Peacock announced that the show would be streaming to the streaming site. The company will soon provide more information as they coordinate with Lionsgate.

Speculation on The Continental Plot
Kevin Beggs, chairman of Lionsgate Television, revealed to Deadline that The Continental would examine the history of the hotel with the same name. The Chairman of Lionsgate Television Kevin Beggs stated to Deadline that The Continental would investigate Winston’s past, as played by Ian McShane.
Beggs explained that “What we are exploring in The Continental” is Winston, the young Winston, and how he and his confederates found their ways into this hotel. He and his team have since met them in the movie franchise forty years later.”

He said that the spin-off series offers an “interesting background to explore the origins and evolution of The Continental,” which is (within the movie franchise), the assassin’s hotel in which it is impossible to kill anyone. But if you decide to venture out of the hotel you’re still safe. This technique is used in many movie plots. Winston is the one responsible for this.
Beggs also revealed that season 1 of The Continental’s plot will be a standalone. The season is comprised of “three essentially 90-minute episodes which you could interpret as either a limited series, or as an event series.”
The Continental Cast
While we may hear familiar names, The Continental is set 40 years before the John Wick films so we won’t likely see many of these familiar faces.
Characters like Winston Scott and Charon are being played by actors who will play their younger counterparts (Colin Woodell & Ayomide Adegun, respectively).
John Wick will not return, sorry. Keanu Reeves will play a producer role behind-the-scenes, but Beggs stated to Deadline the background of The Continental was “way back preJohn Wick and even before young John Wick”, and that “that character isn’t finding his way into this universe.”
There are many interesting casting options that offer characters and other characters that will keep your attention. Katie McGrath portrays The Adjudicator while Mel Gibson plays the mysterious Cormac.
