The Big Show Show Season 1 : Preview

Many people online thought that Netflix’s The Big Show Show was a prank. But it’s actually very real. Paul “Big Show”, a semi-retired WWE Superstar, is the star of a new family comedy in which he plays an ex-wrestler who is trying to start the second or third act of his life as a Tampa-based stay-at-home father and husband. This project can be both horrendous and great. Overall, the truth lies somewhere in-between as Big Show shows himself to be a warm, friendly, glowing, and towering “family man”, capable of hosting multi-cam sitcoms. But there’s one caveat to The Big Show Show being family comedy.
It’s not intended to be clever or biting, but it’s cuddly and warm. It’s easy for parents to enjoy the show with their kids and not be annoyed by it. The Big Show Show: Season 1 GalleryYounger-skewing sitcoms can be done well, obviously. We can talk about ’80s classics such as Different Strokes and Growing Pains, or more recent basic cable fare such as Nick’s iCarly and Victorious or Disney’s Wizards of Waverly place or Suite Life of Zack & Cody. The Big Show Show is somewhere in the middle. Unlike ’80s comedies, which tended to wander into the darkened theaters of “Very Special Episodes,” where they would tackle drugs, sexual assault, or even serial killers (yes Punky Brewster, I’m thinking). The Latter Day’s family/teen shows became more serious than in decades past, but they didn’t take it as seriously as the previous generations.
The Big Show Show does not touch on conflict or challenge but is far too bland to offer much more than sitcom beats. It’s not a bad thing. Although it won’t drive parents insane, it’s not one of the best family shows to binge.
WWE fans will, like myself will be engaging in a different fashion and will watch a lot. Even those who only know Big Show as a pop culture character might still find the comedian charming. huge . Yes, it’s possible to find a little joy in watching someone so large interact with people who are only interested in his navel. This is a wonderful dichotomy that helps to differentiate this show from others.

Show, who is story-wise known as Show by his family, in real life and on television, struggles to accept his retirement from WWE. His strong-willed, teenage daughter Lola, (Reylynncaster), came from a previous relationship and a colder climate. Show moves between autograph gigs, and trying to find a job. Lola is having a hard time adapting to her new environment. Show’s two other daughters, Mandy (Lily Brooks O’Briant), and J.J. (Juliet Donenfeld), aren’t as successful because they have bigger personalities and more wacky sitcom personalities. They are meant to add to the Lola arc. They are wonderful.
Cassy, Show’s wife (Allison Munn), is very close to being a typical “mom-of-four”. Consider the husband as an additional child Although she is a “type”, The Big Show Show gives her some flaws and fumbles so that she doesn’t become a stereotypical bad cop. Lola is the most mature character on The Big Show. This makes sense given her family life.
Jaleel White (Family Matters’ esteemed Urkel), is a regular role here as Terrence Maick. Show’s perky friend and local owner of a health club. White is a great partner in crime and has a lot of Show’s off-the-wall antics. He’s also a very anti-Urkel performer as a fast-talking fool. White adds weight to the proceedings, despite Show’s enormous size.
WHAT TIME WILL THE BIG SHOWSHOW SEASON 2 COME ON NETFLIX

Netflix will not release season 2 of the sitcom, even if Netflix approves for it to be aired in 2020. Season 1 The Big Show Show was dropped one day after Wrestlemania 36. Wrestlemania 37 would have been the date of Season 2’s release if TV and film production resumes between June and July.
Our best guess would be March 2021 or April 2021.

Is the story worthy of a second season?

After the end of the first season, The Big Show was close to returning to the WWE. Big Show was able to see the reality of his marriage and knew that he desired to be at home with family.
The characters can be put in uncomfortable situations just like any sitcom. While the series is centered on the hulking wrestler, a lot of it centers around his daughters Lola and Josie.
It would be wonderful to see former WWE stars make cameo appearances in the second season.
