It’s remarkable how some anime franchises can return after decades away and almost instantly brighten your day. In fact, when Tokyo Mew Mew was last on our screens 20 years ago, a significant proportion of its new fans may not have even been born yet.
Thankfully, the franchise is back with the Tokyo Mew Mew Mew series (that’s one extra Mew for the 20-year hiatus). However, fans around the world are confused about where they can watch the anime online and when new episodes from Tokyo Mew Mew Mew will release for worldwide streaming.

A positive reputation to maintain 20 years later
The original Tokyo Mew Mew series had an extremely positive response from both fans and critics around the world.
Not only was the original manga series extremely popular with fans, but the 2002 TV adaptation also cashed in on the slice-of-life science fiction rom-com popularity.
The series is scoring a 68% on Anilist, 3.4/5 on Anime Planet, 6.9/10 on IMDB as well as a 7.04/10 on MyAnimeList with over 68,000 reviews and 138,000 members.
Whilst these scores aren’t anything to particularly shout about in the modern industry, it shows just how popular the Tokyo Mew Mew legacy is 20 years later.
“Those of you who enjoy magical girl series should watch this series without fail. Additionally any of you with kids under the age of 10 or younger siblings should also take the opportunity to watch this with them. Tokyo Mew Mew is a rare show that is just adult and serious enough to appeal to older viewers but still youthful enough to charm the little ones. You shouldn’t miss it!” – User Skadi, via MAL.
